The rising demand for health-promoting foods has led to the search alternative, sustainable, and multifunctional peptide sources. Unconventional though promising sources such as agro-industrial wastes by-products, insects, marine, plant RuBisCo could be future of bioactive peptides. Bioactive peptides derived from various proteins are biologically active regulators that can used food additives prevent oxidation microbial spoilage. Therefore, have been applied maintain quality safety products. Besides, functional ingredients treat or chronic lifestyle diseases. present review highlights recent findings alternative peptides, technological improvements in identification isolation, some obstacles widespread application uses Especially, discusses model systems ingredients.
